Boutique hand-wired guitar amplifiers

When founder Chris Benson approached us to develop the brand for his up-and-coming boutique guitar amplifier company, we were ready to get set up and plug right in. Having a background in music and a deep appreciation for well-built gear, we shared a common language not only for the nuances of sound and build quality, but also for an understanding of vintage equipment and the aesthetics of the time periods of some of music’s most coveted amplifiers. Benson’s amps were built to emulate and elevate the best qualities of vintage circuits, while also bringing an insane level of knowledge to the evolution of components and their impact on sound. 

We partnered with Chris to develop an aesthetic that captured both the vibe and work-horse quality of vintage equipment, and the fastidious attention to detail of his hand-built amps, which are at once incredibly nuanced and deceptively simple. Beyond the basics of the wordmark and identity, we designed the faceplates and graphic interfaces for the amps and the design system, which extended seamlessly into his boutique guitar pedals. What started as a small shop in a garage has boomed into the darlings of the boutique amp and pedal world, putting Benson on the map as one of the premier independent builders in the country.
